A Musky treat

I have recently been trying out some of the Body Shop products and as I bought the white musk shower gel I decided I would buy the body lotion to accompany it. I love the white musk scent as it reminds me of when I used to buy it as a child.

~~PACKAGING~~
The body lotion comes in a clear plastic bottle which means you can see the white colour lotion inside and know exactly how much of the product you have left. The product name and the Body shop logo is on the front of the bottle and the back of the bottle has the product ingredients.

The top of the bottle has a plastic flip ld which has a good sized hole in to allow the lotion to come out. The top can be screwed off but this does not need to be done and if it is too much of the lotion will come out.
~~USE AND RESULTS~~

It is very simple to use the body lotion, the bottle is easy to squeeze and as it is a good consistency only a small amount comes out of the hole at once. The lotion is to be squeezed into the hands and then massaged into the skin. The lotion is easy to apply and it absorbers very quickly into the skin. Once the lotion has been applied to the skin it gives it a little glow and makes it look silky. I noticed that my skin immediately felt moisturised and soft and this feeling lasted for a good few hors after applying.
The scent is hard to describe but there is definitely an underlying smell of musk, it is not over powering whilst in the bottle but it does become stronger when applied to the skin., I would not recommend covering all of the body with this as the smell is too strong but it makes for a good scent when used on the wrists or neck area and means you don’t have to wear perfume. I think that using this and then applying perfume would not make for a good smell.

The feeling and smell it left on my hands was not nice, they were soft but they did feel slightly greasy, there were no other parts of my body that felt greasy after applying this though. I did not like the scent being left on my hands so I washed then and this was very easy to get off.
I have used hubby as a guinea pig with this lotion as he has sensitive skin and he has had no reaction or effects from using it.

~~INFO~~
The bottle size which I have is 60ml and I think this is a good size and it means you can try the product out before paying the hefty price tag for the large bottle. I have been using this bottle for 3 weeks now and am only just getting to the half way mark.

The product ingredients for those wishing to know are:-
Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Glycerin (Humectant), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Emollient), Orbignya oleifera (Babassu Oil) (Emollient), Prunus dulcis (Sweet Almond Oil) (Emollient), Dimethicone (Skin Conditioning Agent), Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate (Emollient/Skin Conditioner), PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate (Emulsifier), Parfum (Fragrance), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Butyrospermum parkii (Shea Butter) (Emollient), Carbomer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Maltodextrin (Skin Conditioning Agent), Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde (Fragrance Ingredient), Methylparaben (Preservative), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Butylparaben (Preservative), Ethylparaben (Preservative), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Isobutylparaben (Preservative), Propylparaben (Preservative), Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Hydroxycitronellal (Fragrance Ingredient), Hibiscus abelmoschus (Fragrance Ingredient), Coumarin (Fragrance Ingredient), Isoeugenol (Fragrance Ingredient), Geraniol (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Salicylate (Fragrance Ingredient), Farnesol (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Eugenol (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Cinnamate (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient).

The shelf life of the bottle once it has been opened is 12 months. The packaging is fully recyclable and as with all Body Shop products it has not been made using animal testing.
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILTY~~

This is a Body Shop product so can only be bought in their high street or online stores. The price for the 60ml bottle is around the £3 mark and the large bottle of 250ml is £9. I think both sizes of bottle are over priced but it is good stuff so try to buy when on offer.
~~RECOMMENDED?~~

I am more than happy to give this body lotion a good solid 4 stars. I have dropped a star as the scent is overpowering when a large amount is used. If only used in small quantities it gives a lovely light musk scent which means no perfume is needed. It moisturises and softens skin but it is definitely only one for the female market.
